Austin Mini Door Cappings - Before & After
The following photo shows how Veneer can be 'bent' around the contours of the dashboard and wooden trim.
...In fact veneer can be moulded to fit and can even bend around right-angles!
Wooden steering wheels can also be restored
Here's a photo of the Triang pedal car that Simon bought and restored. He uses it to promote his simulated burr walnut effect that he paints on metal. At the car shows people can't help but touch the car and ask it's really made of wood!
Simon is also a talented woodturner.
He enjoys woodturning as a hobby alongside his skills for classic car and furniture restoration. When he has the time (which isn't often!) he crafts bowls as gifts for friends and family.
He oftens demonstrates his woodturning skills when he hosts open days in conjunction with the local French "Chambre de Metiers" of the National "Journées des metiers d'arts"
